few weeks ago I wrote about a book entitled "The High Performance of Happiness" (you can read here) which refers to Positive Psychology is dedicated, among other things, the study of happiness.

Among these studies, those of Sonja Lyubomirsky that for 20 years has studied scientifically what is happiness and how you can develop.
Some of their conclusions in his book "The Science of Happiness ", they are not" recipes "self-help book and are backed by rigorous empirical analysis.

According to the author, happiness is not a fluke or something that we have to find after getting the degree, the right job or the perfect couple.

Rather than seeking happiness is better to create or build. Happiness is determined by 50% by genetics. The most surprising thing is that circumstances such as wealth, family, health, make up only 10% of that happiness and the remaining 40% is voluntary. We create our happiness.

But how to create that happiness? Sonja Lyubomirsky offers 12 activities that we perform every day:
1. Always express gratitude.
2. Cultivate optimism.
3. Avoid social comparison.
4. Practice kindness.
5. Caring social relationships (starting with the couple, Lyubomirsky refers to John Gottman, couples who work well spend more than five hours a week to talk to each other and generate five positive for every negative emotions, among the positives are, admiration, appreciation and affection).
6. Develop strategies to address the circumstances (resilience, tolerance, serenity).
7. Learn to forgive.
8. "Flow" more (how capacity staff)
9. Savor the joys of life (enjoy, be open to the beauty and excellence).
10. Commit to one's aims.
11. Practice religion and spirituality.
12. Taking care of our body and soul,
13.meditar,
14.realizar physical activity, healthy eating 15.llevar
and act as a happy person (face interaction).

Finally, the author dedicates a 20-page epilogue to depression, from its causes to treatments without ever forgetting that unhappiness can be cured with happiness.
